I hope that you find use for this software and also place it on
the www.slbbs.com website for all to utilize. Its been collecting
digital dust in my archives to long and I'm not getting any younger
or healthier these days. If anything, it may inspire some of the
SLBBS oldtimers to renew their past BBS'g experience.

This software consists of four (4) 1.44Mb 3 1/2 in. diskettes.
This is a copy of the SPINNAKER Web Server Software designed
and developed by Searchlight Software Inc. This version is
designated as 2.41SR. It is a special release that was mailed
to me on May 8, 1997 by Frank Larosa (author/owner) of Searchlight
Software.

This release of Spinnaker is NOT limited/hardcoded to any specific
IP address and/or domain. The software contains no limitations.
This is a copy of Spinnaker that Frank created for my needs
at the time (circa 1997).

The REGISTRATION serial numbers are 1056987652 or 0839857754.
As its been many moons since I last installed the software,
I forget which number does what. One number registers the
software, while another number is displayed by the software
after the registration process. Sorry, but 3 heart attacks
later and the effects of agent orange from 2 full tours in
Vietnam have made me give thanks if I can remember what I
had for lunch the day before.

The software contains the WebMSG and WebFile modules to allow
it to function with both a Windows 95/NT4 32-bit and/or MSDOS
16-bit based Searchlight BBS 5.1x system. I have in the past
installed Spinnaker & SLBBS 5.1x on a Windows 95, 95A, 95B,
98, 98SE, and NT 4.0 based PC. and it worked fine. As long
as the PC is a Pentium 200MHz or below, all is happy.
Anything beyond the baby wins or NT4 for an OS, or above a
200MHz Pentium, is a crap shoot.

NOTE: If one wants to create the original diskettes,
diskette #1 requires a disk label of SPINNAKER.
The software can be installed by just copying all
the included files into a temp directory and
executing the SETUP.EXE file. I have included the
documentation which came with the software in
Word 6.0 for Windows format. The filename is
SPINMAN1.DOC dated 12-30-1996. Also included is
an updated manual as a document named SPINMAN2.DOC
      dated 03-05-1997.

The only caveats that I recall is:

1. - Every time you first run the Spinnaker Webserver,
a popup screen asks if you would like to send the
name of your webserver and other personal info to
     Frank Larosa's old www.Searchlight.com website.
Just click the CANCEL button and you're on your
way to running the server. This has to be done
     because www.searchlight.com no longer exists.

You can't send any info either via the internet
option or the telephone number dialup option.
To avoid this pain in the ass prompt, run a utility
     called PTFB (Press-the-Freak'g-Button).
This utility in its current version is now shareware.
However, it was a freeware utility for years and can
be located on the web via a google search. When I get
some time later this week, I'll search for it on one
of my Netware servers and email the PTFB util to you
     at the wakawaka address.

2. - Searchlight BBS Files and Messages displayed in the
Spinnaker webserver contain a two (2) digit date for
the year. This is true regardless of SLBBS 5.1x
capability to display a four (4) digit for the year.
However, the dates are displayed correctly as in 07-07-05
instead of 07-07-2005. Therfore, Y2K is there, it just
     was never tweaked by Frank.
