I was going by what was said in the article. Didn't check the website. I have now seen other articles and news stories about how it is "coming," and that it appears to be based on a phone (made in China) that is already available in the USA via T-mobile for considerably less than this gold-painted version.

It was probably assembeled in the USA, A lot of components are maufactured abroad, then assembled in the USA.

I heard California passed a law saying you can't label a product as "made in the USA" if a certain percentage or higher of its parts were not made in the US. I heard of this because I follow some guitar forums, and Fender (guitar maker, located in California) was affected by this, because now they can't label their US-made guitars as made in the USA. Apparently they're labeling those guitars with "Coronoa, California" now instead.

The phone? No, if you read about it, is is a model made and assembled in
China starting in 2025. T-Mobile has it on offer, but not in special Trump gold, for significantly less than the rebadged Trump T1.

After it was announced that it would start shipping, a company in China
even trolled them about it.
