Mannnnn, that was flattering! I don't think I am that awesome. My board is kind of lame. I have a lot of boards way worse than mine. I have seen a few boards that blew me away. This board called future land, is the best modded board on the internet, it blows mine away! The only thing for the bulletin board scene, I have done, was created this QWK network. I suck at ansi, can't write good java script, so my bbs kind of sucks. Bringing people together, and getting people away from elitist jerks, that's awesome. We have 5 boards already joined, and I haven't done much advertising. I guess, I will put an advertise up on hobby-net. By the way is it a qwk network or fido?

I go on some BBSes and then want to turn mine off cause they WAY out of my league! But, I have to go back to why I started one up again - connections to people just like you. Overtime my system will get better, and look better, but I'm in no incredible rush to tweak the crap out of it but rather make is very useful with a lot of things to do to keep folks common back. To me, it's all about connections and community.

BTW - Hobby-Net is an FTN. Works the same as FidoNet as far as configuration.

At this point we are running a qwk net here.
Fido is a different process.
Some things about it are better such as instant message delivery to all
nodes.
Draw backs are that you have to assign the node numbers one by one.
Also depending on the bbs software used a nodelist may need to be
managed if you don't have dns entries defined for each node.
If we also want to run an FTN setup this is something we can do. If
you'd like I can help with the aspects of the process that I know.

Nice! That is why I started a qwk network. Eventually I will setup it up as a Fido-style network too. It will be able to do both.

Yeah, we set it up as a Fido style network too, so I can do both. I am down for the help. I have never setup a Fido style network. I don't know how to be a host or even setup basic Fido-net. I always heard it was really hard and annoying to setup. That's why I never tried it.

It does take some thought process to how you want things setup, but it
can be done.
For the best experience you will want to get a domain just for this FTN structure.
Then create a zone for each network in the structure.
Each host goes under that zone in the setup.
Also we will want to find an unused network number to advertise the net
in.
Let me know when you have some time and we can talk about this over
voice chat of your choice so we can work things though.
